Sometimes known as “policeman’s heel," Plantar Fasciitis is characterised by a pain in the heel.
One of the most common heel pain syndromes is called Plantar Fasciitis.

Diagnosis & symptoms
This painful heel problem is diagnosed through careful history taking and an examination of your feet.
People with plantar fasciitis typically complain that they have pain in their heel when they get out of bed in the morning. This often fades away but can return if you are on your feet a lot during the day.
The pain is also experienced when standing after a period of sitting.
Typical causes
As this is a musculoskeletal problem we need to examine you and take a careful history to determine the specific cause. We will also examine your footwear which can be a contributory factor for some sufferers.
